If you have visited Thailand, the most widely seen convenience store is the 7-Eleven. The first 7-Eleven started in Bangkok way back in 1989. Since then the US-based store chain has grown to around 10,000 outlets. Whether you want a sip of hot coffee or you want to buy some household items you will find it in a 7-Eleven. Although most 7-Eleven’s are located in Bangkok, you will find a 7-Eleven even on a remote island.
The success of 7-Eleven in Thailand is unprecedented. Some of the things I liked about 7-Eleven Thailand are as follows:
Firstly, 7-Eleven has great product quality. The quality of almost everything in the stores can be rated as good. The food never caused any problems. Also, products like stationery, beauty, beverages were of decent quality. That is something I like about 7-Eleven.
Secondly, 7-Eleven stores are open 24*7. You can wake up in the middle of the night and go to a nearby 7-Eleven to have something. During my stay friend and I used to walk down to a 7-Eleven around 12.30 midnight.
Thirdly, 7-Eleven has great product variety.
Bread and butter, ice creams, beer (yes even beer is available), snacks, grilled sandwich, Japanese Konbini snacks, dumplings, etc are readily available.
In addition, you will find ready meals in small boxes which can be instantly microwaved. Ready meals include fried rice chicken, chicken spaghetti, Korean fried rice, Chicken Teriyaki rice, Thai omelet rice, etc.
