Best time to visit Morocco

If you are planning a trip to Morocco the most suitable time for you would be the spring or autumn. The weather during hot the season will remain a little warm but it is pleasant. Not even the snowy winter or the burning summer would be a favorable time for you. Even though the coastal region of the country can be visited year-round. The famous high Atlas Mountains can also be visited at any time of the year. The summer can be a little too harsh for any long-distance travel in the country. But if the heat doesn’t bother your skin you can go at any time between the months of April and October. But if you visit the mountains during the winter it may be risky and injurious to your health. The cold may even create spectacular panoramas.

You should avoid going to Morocco during the months of Ramadan as the transport facilities may bother you a little.

If you ask my opinion then October is the most suitable month to visit the country.

Best places to visit in Morocco

Rabat, the capital of the country provides you a diverse experience that you will love to explore. Rabat is a popular tourist destination, it comprises of two districts namely ” old town” and “new town”. The new town would be the best place for shopping and enjoying the city life in Morocco. The old town has more historical impact, it has some special markets from where you can buy ancient antique pieces of Morocco culture.

Marrakech, it is the most crowd-pulling part of the country. The place has a different kind of vibe that you won’t find anywhere else. The place is colorful, historic, and amazing to explore. The smell of the spices and the food will not fail to amaze you. Make sure you visit the Bahia Palace in Marrakech one of the most beautiful places in the country.

Toubkal national park and Jebel Toubkal, climbing a height of 4167m above the hills of Jebel Toubkal and getting a view from the top would be the most pleasing moment of your visit. It is tge highest point of the famous Atlas mountains, which will most probably give you the best view of your life. Even if you are not able to climb to the top the national Park at the base is also extremely beautiful.

Sidi Ifni, it is a Spanish heritage in the southwest of Morocco. Earlier it was a Spanish territory and it still has Spanish traces. The town is famous for its fishing culture if you love fishing then it could be the best place in the country. The town remains warm for most of the part of the year. The town has a relaxed and calm vibe.

Asilah, it is the best holidaymakers in the country. The locals create a lot of attractive art and craft products that will not fail to amaze you. The city is too beautiful in itself, it is one of the most overlooked jewels of the country.

Do you need vaccines to travel to Morocco?

Yes, there are basic requirements for a few vaccines if you want to travel to Morocco. The CDC and WHO recommend the following vaccinations for Morocco: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia, and influenza.

Hepatitis A – Food & Water – Recommended for most travelers

Hepatitis B – Blood & Body Fluids – Accelerated schedule available

Typhoid – Food & Water – Shot lasts 2 years. Oral vaccine lasts 5 years, must be able to swallow pills. Oral doses must be kept in the refrigerator.

Rabies – Saliva of Infected Animals – High-risk country. Vaccine recommended for long-term travelers and those who may come in contact with animals.

Polio – Food & Water – Required if arriving from a region with polio transmission. Considered a routine vaccination most travel itineraries. Single adult booster recommended.

Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR) – Various Vectors – Given to anyone unvaccinated and/or born after 1957. One time adult booster recommended.

TDAP (Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis) –Wounds & Airborne – Only one adult booster of pertussis is required.

Chickenpox – Direct Contact & Airborne – Given to those unvaccinated that did not have chickenpox.

Shingles – Direct Contact – Vaccine can still be given if you have had shingles.

Pneumonia – Airborne – Two vaccines were given separately. All 65+ or immunocompromised should receive both.

Influenza – Airborne – Vaccine components change annually.

Meningitis – Airborne & Direct Contact – Given to anyone unvaccinated or at an increased risk, especially students.

Always take a person before you click pictures in Morocco especially of women and Muslims. Carry tissues along with you as many Morocco hotel bathrooms don’t provide tissues. Discuss the taxi rates with the driver before traveling that will save you a lot of money. Always prefer packed water since tap waters in the country can harm your stomach.

Don’ts

Don’t wear fancy body exposing clothes in Morocco. Don’t fall for false guides as they may cause you a lot of trouble. Don’t purchase or consume drugs in the country as it is a highly punishable offense in the country.
