14 Items Not Allowed In Your Hand Luggage

Although majority of the items are allowed in the check in luggage, many items are not allowed to carry in the hand luggage.

Items which cannot be used in hand luggage in airplanes.

  1. Personal Items: Scissors, shaving kit and cigarette lighters
  2. Sporting Goods: Badminton Racquets, Tennis Racquets, Baseball Bats, Golf Clubs, Hockey Sticks,  Lacrosse Sticks, Cricket bats, Fishing Rods, etc are not allowed to carry in the hand luggage.
  3. Guns and Firearms: Any kind of guns and firearm including toy guns are prohibited from carrying in hand luggage.
  4. Tools: Tools like axes and hatchets, hammers, saws, screwdriver, etc are also not allowed to carry in hand luggage.
  5. Self- defense items: Martial art items or any kind of self -defense items are not allowed.
  6. Compressed gases: Compressed gases such as oxygen, liquid nitrogen are not allowed.
  7. Peroxides: Chemical and toxic substances are not allowed.
  8. Insecticides: Poisonous and infectious substances such as insecticides and weed killers are not allowed.
  9. Drones: Drone is a tricky one. Some countries do not allow any drones. Therefore, it is advised to read drone policy before putting in the hand luggage.
  10. Power Bank: In most flights power banks are not allowed in hand luggage
  11. Batteries: Although lithium-ion batteries are allowed they are some restrictions. It is advised to read about it before the journey
  12. Medicines: Any liquid medicine above 100 ml is not allowed. If a 100 ml bottle is taken that’s fine.
  13. Soup: Soup comes under the liquid category. Therefore, if the soup is carried for someone unwell make sure that it is not more than 99 ml
  14. Tent pegs: It is advised not to carry tent pegs as they will be immediately confiscated.
